Paving, steps and terracing

To create a patio in the rear garden that toned in with the church tower and neighbouring cottage, to improve existing steps to side of house, to remove old decking on top level and replace with a small patio distinct from its surroundings.

We constructed the main patio and steps with grey tumbled walling and a light grey porcelain paving, reducing step heights and increasing tread depth to make these much easier to use, we decided to also replace the path to gate with the grey, the top patio area was raised, and extended back to the French doors, doing away with the need for a step and paved in a cream porcelain paving that complimented the paths either side, so the step up and change of colour made this area feel special and brightened it up, we also topped the steps on the path to gate in cream to give a stylish appearance to an otherwise utilitarian area. The raised beds were extra to the original contract and once planted and mature will look wonderful.

This project has totally transformed the usability of the garden and setting of the house.
